I was waiting to see how long it would take someone to actually play this "Joe" deck to skirt diversity. Two or three weeks ago when the TJG guys brought up Joe with Reversals as Kim tech and then posted that Air Joe list on Facebook it definitely struck me then that the Air symbol has almost no synergy at all with Joe's enhance. Sure you can re-ready something and make your attack low but you also gave your own attack "-1 speed" in the process without the benefit of turning on copies of Hungry Wolf and Human Weapon. Essentially anything he does on Air he probably does better off of All. That being said he makes a decent tech character for certain matchups (like Kim) as was discussed because of his reversal and card eating capabilities but when you build that Air list it is just a Felicia deck running a character that has almost pointless enhances on your own turn, the next logicial step is of course to just run both characters with one in the sideboard and main decking Joe to avoid being diversified by another Felicia deck is definitely a good way to go about it. I do wonder how many Game 1s were actually won as Joe though and how many times Joe was actually the character of choice after Game 1.

Essentially anything he does on Air he probably does better off of All.Except for most all the good Air cards. Ever Hopeful, Dust in the Wind, Dragon of Kyokugen, Ophid, Bridging the Races, Cat Spike, Nivose... On Air, he does get to play Former Rivals, which is much better than the damage pumps available to anyone. But only if you're playing a Joe deck built as such, rather than a Felicia deck :>
I do wonder how many Game 1s were actually won as Joe though and how many times Joe was actually the character of choice after Game 1.I think Phil won 3 game 1s in Swiss, and 100% always switched to Felicia in game 2. I remember asking him about Joe's R or starting as Jiffany instead, and don't remember his answer, except that he didn't like AJ's Air Jiffany deck from Michigan

Yeah, I was just throwing up cards I saw most of the lists as I was looking through them, but yes Summer heat was a heavily played card. Also with that fact, I typed up places 1-4 on my phone Sunday evening and Kevin noticed some of the numbers don't add up. I have to go back and double check, I'm sure my fat fingers hit other numbers near the correct ones.

I guess I wasn't entirely clear with what I meant. Basically I feel when you build an Air Joe deck you might as well be playing almost any other 7 hand size Air character that actually has abilities you can probably use more effectively. I don't know if Former Rivals is really quite good enough to warrant running Joe over other people basically. I can't think of any other card that actually has the Air symbol other than that and Team Fatal Fury which really keys off the condition that you ate something in the opponents card pool. Pretty much all of the ones you would want as I mentioned only share All with Joe. It just looks to me when you build Air Joe that you're running a deck with a bunch of great Air cards and Joe just happens to be your character, in most matchups I'd feel like the deck would win a little more in spite of him not because of him but I've never actually played it that was just the general impression I got from looking at these lists and seeing the general lack of synergy that seems to exist between his E and the abilities available off of the Air symbol.

Oh yeah, definitely agree about Joe adding fairly little value as your starting sandbag character instead of, idk, Q-Bee or Jiffany. He does dunk Kim though!

Actually, Q-Bee is definitely the best. Free +2 damage to everything? GG Felicia

... you would think so, right? Until your opponent uses that momentum gaining you damage to Barrier/Sweet/otherwise turn your everything into nothing.
